This is a spalted ash wooden bowl that is perfect for a salad bowl, fruit bowl, table centerpiece or just a unique home décor piece of art. This is a large bowl measuring 10 1/4 inches in diameter and 4 3/4 inches tall. We accented this bowl with gold Unicorn Spit wood stain that even has some faint glitter in the finish. This log was harvested from an Ash tree in our neighborhood that had to be taken down after being infested by the Emerald Ash Borer, an instect affecting many trees in our area. It is fun to create something that would have otherwise been ground into mulch or ended up in the landfill.

Care and Maintenance All of our bowls are created to be useful art pieces. We intend for you to pick them up, handle them, put things in them. While we make them with great care, they should be pretty durable and stand up to daily use.
You can wash your bowls by hand with warm water and mild dish soap and dry them immediately. The bowls and finishes are not intended to be submerged in water or run through a dishwasher. The bowl was finished with one coat of shellac with several clear urethane top coats on top of that. The finishes on your bowl have been cured for more than 30-days before shipping to you, so they are safe for your use when you receive them.
